1st of May in Greece!

The 1st of May is celebrated as the day which is devoted to workers, but also Greeks welcome Spring! It is considered as a bank day and all shops are close. Friends and families are gathered together in their houses, in countryside or beach have lunch, drink and dancing until late that evening. After lunch, we collect daisies and make a flower necklace which we wear and a big wreath, which we hang up in our frontdoor until the midsummer. If happens to be on holiday in Greece that day, you will be surprised because you will be invited from every place you pass where local people celebrate. Join us and let yourself celebrate this day as a Greek, is an experience you will always remember!!
